Monster Island, the Asylum's mockbuster for 2019, was released just in time with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film centers on an island with the same title as the island itself where a monstrous lives.


This asylum film has a low budget, roughly equivalent to a large meal for children. (first published) The filmmakers wisely chose to only focus on a handful of people and to shoot all the important moments involving the A-listers of the cast during lunch. The Asylum will probably do well considering that this is a movie about kaiju, which is basically how it goes.
